The Som Riscado Festival starts this Wednesday, April 4th, and Loulé will be the stage for visual concerts, exhibitions, performances, interactive installations and debates.

 

From the 4th to the 8th of April, the epicenter of “Som Riscado” is, as we are used to, the Cine-Teatro Louletano, but it doesn't stop there. There will be activities at the Artistic Creation and Experimentation Center of Loulé (CECAL)/House of Culture of Loulé, at the Convento do Espírito Santo Auditorium, as well as at the Loulé Secondary School Auditorium. Scheduled are visual concerts, performances, exhibitions, interactive installations, training and debates.

Once this new edition opens, on the 4th, at 19 pm, the festival presents “Som Temperado”, an unprecedented multidisciplinary show that results from a work by several hands between the music producer Miguel Neto – mEEkAlnUt (electronics), the chef de cuisine from the Tertúlia Algarvia restaurant and the Caldeireiros de Loulé, in a modern alchemy of sounds and flavours. After the show, there will be a tasting of Algarve cataplana by the public. Capacity is limited.

And, in absolute debut in the South of the country, the experimental show “Autopsy of a Portuguese Futurism” takes place on April 5, at 21 pm, at the Cine-Teatro, with the prestigious Nova Orquestra Futurista do Porto and the special guest Vítor Correia (actor), who evokes the brief adventure that was “Portuguese Futurism” and its authors.

On the night of April 6, at 22 pm, “Os Portugueses” will take place, a visual concert based on a revised and updated version of Rodrigo Leão's instrumental themes written for the television series “Portugal, a Social Portrait”, whose images will be projected on the during the show.

Rodrigo Leão will be accompanied by a guest singer, in a formation anchored on a string of strings (violin, cello and viola) and a multi-instrumentalist. Before, however, at 18:30 pm, Rodrigo Leão, Ivan Dias (producer/director) and Joana Pontes (director) discuss “From Image to Music: Labyrinths and Fascinations of the Creative Process” also at the Cine-Teatro, in a debate with free entry.

The result of the commission by Cine-Teatro Louletano to the renowned João Paulo Esteves da Silva trio will take place on Saturday, April 7, at 21 pm, being preceded by a conversation between the musician, university professor Miriam Tavares and Aida Tavares, director artist from São Luiz Teatro Municipal and representative of Casa Bernardo Sassetti, who, challenged by the organizers, talk about the photographic legacy of the musician Bernardo Sassetti – in this case about a set of photographs of the musician that are part of the exhibition “… and on top of it cold” –, as well as on the creative process underlying João Paulo's visual concert.

For the last day of the festival, on April 8th, at 17 pm, there will be an audiovisual performance by the creative and disturbing Sampladélicos (Tiago Pereira and Sílvio Rosado), already announcing the new album and once again reinventing through sound and image a whole. rich legacy linked to traditional Portuguese music.

Also resulting from an order from the festival, on the same afternoon, at 18:30 pm, as the closing of Som Riscado, there is a visual concert that brings together the Triktopus (João Frade, Marco Santos and Diogo Duque), whose sound is of strong ethnic influence, jazzy and using electronic elements, loops, samples and vocal parts, to Pedro do Vale's real-time experimental design.

Tickets for the electronic music concert for babies with special guest SURMA and Companhia Musicalmente (an absolute premiere of this format in the south of the country), which will take place at the Auditorium of the Loulé Secondary School, with sessions at 10:00 am and 11:30 am on Saturday, April 7th.

Under the responsibility of the renowned Soncopia association (Porto), there will also be a “Workshop for the Construction of Utopian Instruments/Balloon Orchestra” to be held between the 8:10 and 00:13, which requires prior registration.

Som Riscado involves several institutional partners in the municipality of Loulé and the Algarve region: Loulé Criativo, Casa da Cultura de Loulé, Secondary School of Loulé, University of Algarve – Research Center in Arts and Communication, ETIC_Algarve, Tertúlia Algarvia and Casa Bernardo Sassetti (Lisbon). Antena 1 and RUA Fm are the festival's media partners.
