The mountain bike ride “By rails of Castro Marim” returns to the border municipality on February 11th. The event, which is scheduled to start at Praça 1º de Maio at 9:30 am, is part of the Algarve Regional Cup and the XCM Inter-regional Cup.
The competition, which will award prizes to the first three classified in each category, is organized by Associação Rodativa and will consist of two courses: one with 65 kilometers (marathon), which will have leisure and competition aspects, and another with 45 kilometers (half-marathon), which has no competitive aspect.
«The vast natural heritage, including protected landscapes, streams and reservoirs, the Sapal Nature Reserve, the Beliche and Odeleite Dams, with high environmental and ecological potential, make this territory a privileged destination for nature sports», says the Câmara de Castro Marim.
This event is highly sponsored by the Restaurant “Sem Espinhas” and supported by the Castro Marim City Council and Parish Council, Portuguese Cycling Federation (Algarve Delegation) and the collaboration of the Motard Group “Os Piratas” and companies in the region.
