Seahorses, undersized octopuses and juvenile spider crabs were released into their natural environment on the 22nd, in a planned operation of the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Olhão, in Ria Formosa.

The Maritime Authority also seized 32 plastic buckets, where the seahorses and species below the legal minimum were located.

In the action, three elements of the Maritime Police and one element of the Captaincy of the Port of Olhão participated, with the support of a vessel.

The local Maritime Authority of Olhão states that it will "continue the effort of inspection and illegal detection of this type of art and harvesting of these species", some of which are at risk, such as the seahorse.
