The photographic exhibition “Os Anjos de Lagoa”, by Ron B. Thomson, opens this Thursday, February 15, at 17 pm, at Municipal Library of Lagoa.

«The author, Ron B. Thomson, resident in Toronto and Lagoa, searched the streets of his Algarve city for tiles with images of saints and angels that accompany the houses. The result now shown to the public is a complete record of those old and new Guardian Angels», says the Chamber of Lagoa.

«The images of Guardian Angels have a long history in Portugal and elsewhere in the world. There are records of this Christian tradition since the fifth century, but the existence of domestic images of protective gods is well documented from the Roman world», he adds.

The exhibition will be open to the public until 23 March 2018 and can be visited every Monday from 14:30 pm to 19:00 pm and from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 am to 19:00 pm.
