The film is silent, but there will be a sound element to accompany the entire film. “O Vento”, by Victor Sjöström, is exhibited this Thursday, February 8, from 21 pm, at the Church of Santiago, in Tavira, and Filipe Raposo will be on the pipe organ to accompany «an amazing work» .

Thus is born another cine-concert of “Video Lucem”, the cultural program supported by "365Algarve" which takes cinema to the churches in the Algarve.

Filipe Raposo spoke with the Sul Informação even before the session and was very expectant, although it's not the first time he's going to set this movie to music. “It's a big challenge to be on a pipe organ. So far there is a metaphor between the fact that the pipe organ works on air and the film is about the wind», he told our newspaper.

In one of the most iconic films by Swedish filmmaker Victor Sjöström, the story revolves around the figure of Letty, played by Lillian Gish.

One day, Letyy runs away from her parents' house to get married, but her husband ends up becoming the film's villain. To find out the rest, you have to go to Tavira on Thursday...

Sérgio Marques, programmer of “365Algarve”, explained to our newspaper that this is a film “that talks about the wind, in various ways”.

Therefore, Filipe Raposo says that «we are going to hear the sound of the storms, present in the affective memories of the storms we are experiencing».

the musician told the Sul Informação who has already been “studying the organ records” and has a “score that follows the main coordinates of the film”. In addition, there will also be «moments when I let the film breathe for itself» and improvisation sections for Filipe Raposo give wings to talent.

And, even before the pianist, it will be Ricardo Martins, an Algarve guitarist, who will open yet another cine-concert of “Video Lucem”.

The expectations for this session are to “fill the beautiful Church of Santiago”, according to Sérgio Marques, something that Filipe Raposo corroborates. «A unique night awaits us. It will be a beautiful moment», he concluded.
