ARS Algarve, the District Center of Faro The Social Security Department and the managing entities of these inpatient units signed, last Friday, February 9, addenda to the program contracts, with the objective of expanding five convalescent beds and five of medium duration, in the Al-Vita Unit , and the conversion of ten beds of Medium Term and Long Term Rehabilitation and Maintenance, in Azinhal.

These addenda contribute, according to ARS Algarve, «to expand the assistance capacity of the National Network of Integrated Continued Care in the Algarve».

With this reinforcement, according to the ARS, «the Algarve Health Region currently has a total of 529 inpatient beds for integrated continuous care, with 74 beds for convalescence, 138 beds for medium-term inpatients and rehabilitation and 317 beds for inpatients. long-lasting and maintenance-free'.

The entity also emphasizes that «the Algarve is one of the regions of the country that, at the moment, offers greater assistance coverage in terms of internment in integrated continuous care. It is also the region with the highest occupancy rate for all types of internment».
