The traditional Festa in Honor of S. Luís, known as Festa das Chouriças, takes place on January 21, in Querença (Loulé).
The Festa will start on January 20th, with a night of fado, starting at 21 pm, at Casa do Povo in Querença.
On Sunday, the 21th, from 11:00 am and in the afternoon, you will be able to enjoy the grilled chorizo sausages in the various establishments in Querença, some located in Largo da Igreja.
The religious celebration will begin at 14:30 pm, with a mass at the Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção, presided over by Father Carlos Matos, which will be followed by a solemn procession with the image of St. Louis.
At 16 pm the usual and always lively chorizo auction will start, where you can participate and buy the queen of the party: the chorizo.
The performance of the Janeiras Group from the São Sebastião Ethnographic Ranch is scheduled at 17:00 pm. During the event, there will be children's entertainment with «the antics of Palhaça Pirolita», says the União de Freguesias de Querença, Tôr and Benafim.
Also from 10:00 am to 18:00 pm, you can visit the market with an exhibition and sale of handicrafts and local products, representative of the region.
From 19:00 pm onwards, a ball is scheduled in the Casa do Povo de Querença's Ballroom, animated by the artist Ruben Filipe.
