The day, January 21, is even dedicated to another saint, São Sebastião, but that did not stop the village of Querença from paying homage this Sunday, with a solemn procession, auction of sausages and their tasting, to S. Luís.

The religious celebration began at 14:30 pm, with mass in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção, presided over by Father Carlos Matos, followed by a solemn procession with the image of St. Luís, through the village streets.

Around 16 pm, the usual and always lively auction of sausages began, which are offered to S. Luís by the faithful, while the smell of good roasted sausages was already in the air.

The festivities, which also included singing by Janeiras, clowns for the youngest, a market with local products and a dance, attracted several thousand people to Querença, who took advantage of the winter sun to taste the sausages and other snacks.
