A concert and three showcases, in three days, are the plans for the presentation, in the Algarve, of the group's first album «Três Bairros».

This Friday, December 8th, at FNAC in Faro, at 17:00 pm and, at Club Farense, at 20:00 pm, on Saturday, 9th, at FNAC da Guia, at 21:30 pm, and Sunday, 10th, at 17:XNUMX pm, at FNAC de Lagos, is the script scheduled for the presentation of the album Turno of the Night” for the region.

Only at the concert in Faro the album is played in its entirety, since at FNAC it's just “given a little smell to those who wanted to know more”, reveals Guilherme Madeira, vocalist of the group, in statements to the Musical|Sul informação.

The project came about when João Correia and Ricardo Gama decided to make an instrumental album, with guests. This was followed by the invitation to Guilherme Madeira, but the experience went so well that “they gave up on the other guests and even on the only instrumental album” and the trio was formed. It was 2015 and an alentejano from Mértola and a saloio from Sintra had just joined a Ribatejano in Santarém, their hometown, with music and a passion for Fado as a common denominator.

The influences of the intangible heritage of humanity for six years is manifested both in the choice of the name, by bringing the theme of Casimiro Ramos to baptize the group, and in the sound, where each one brought the best of their own. musicality, combining various genres and ways of approaching music.

«João has a classical guitar background, Ricardo played for many years with Master Fernando Alvim, exploring a lot the Coimbra guitar and the fados with the Portuguese guitar from Lisbon, and I brought Portuguese popular music and Alentejo cante» , reveals Guilherme Madeira.

As a group, they did not seek to draw a guideline, clinging to a specific genre, they let themselves be carried away by the various contributions and where the composition, in threes, allowed them to travel.

«I sang what I wanted to sing, João played the way he wanted to play, Ricardo just the same. I think that's what makes our sound specific, although the influences are noticeable», confesses the musician.

The band's plans are not including percussion.

Most of the 13 songs of the “Night Shift” were composed in the first months of the band's existence, in 2015, but they chose to “let them breathe”, to be played and matured live, before recording them on record,

These two years served to gain confidence in their compositions and feel the comfort they considered necessary for the record to remain as they wished.
