As of June 2018, Faro and Milan will be connected directly through a new route operated by the Easyjet company, the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA) has just announced.

From the 1st of June of next year, the Algarve will offer another air route to Italy. Through an operation of the Easyjet company, the cities of Faro and Milan will, during the summer, be connected directly, with two weekly flights (on Monday and Friday) on board an A319.

after route Faro-Verona, announced last October, this new connection to the Italian market represents "a new stimulus for tourism in the region" in the Algarve.

According to ATA, «this market has a strategic relevance for the Algarve, given the trend of growth in tourist indicators recently registered, not only in terms of visitors, but also in terms of residential tourism». In 2016 there was a total of about 108 overnight stays by Italian tourists in the Algarve.

This new route will be available until the end of October, and the flights are already on sale on the company's website.
