The “Sharing Christmas” initiative takes place from December 20th to 24th, in Albufeira, and wants to give a more dignified time to “those who need it most”.

From the 20th to the 23rd of December, the Social Store Baú dos Mimos, on Rua António Aleixo, opens its doors to visitors who can collect warm clothes, shoes, toys, textiles or household items.

The items are the result of the “Hot Winter” solidarity campaign, promoted by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Albufeira (SCMA), in partnership with the municipality's Parish Councils and seven local laundries.

The store will be open between 9:00 am and 18:00 pm, except on Saturday, which closes at 13:00 pm.

Under the motto “a barracks, a house, a family”, the Fire Department of Albufeira will make its facilities available to people who lack housing and hygiene care. On December 24th, between 14:00 and 18:00, participants will receive hygiene products and will have the opportunity to take a shower.

Interested parties should contact SCMA's Social Insertion Office through the number 963 431 789 or by e-mail [email protected].

The initiative will close with a Christmas Dinner, where everyone who wants to can make their contribution. The get-together will start at 19:30 pm at the fire station.

On Christmas Eve, volunteers will give their support, "playing a key role in providing moments of comfort to the participants", explains SCMA.

If you want to support this initiative, helping to make the supper, entertainment, decorating the space, among other activities, join us! We are waiting for your contact through the number 917 099 519 or by email at [email protected].

These initiatives are promoted by the Voluntary Firefighters of Albufeira and Santa Casa da Misericórdia, in partnership with the Municipality.
