Arade Bridge

Ponte do Arade will once again be completely closed to traffic, several times a day, for periods of 10 minutes, tomorrow, Thursday and Tuesday of the next week, the 14th, 16th and 21st of November, respectively. The works will force a traffic detour.

The complete cut in traffic in both directions, in this area of the EN125, is due to the lifting and lowering of the bridge deck of the Arade Bridge, in the scope of the work “Contract for the Conception, Project, Construction and Rehabilitation of Road Streaks Associated with the Algarve Litoral Sub-concession”.

According to the concessionaire Rotas do Algarve Litoral, there will be «traffic cuts of ten minutes, several times a day», in the three days in which the intervention will take place.

Taking this into account, a traffic detour will be promoted at the intersections before the bridge, both on the Lagoa and Portimão sides. The alternatives are to use the A22 or the Ponte Velha de Portimão, crossing Estômbar.

this contract had already forced complete cuts in traffic on this section of the EN125, last week. as the Sul Informação advanced at the time, new bans on circulation were foreseen from the outset, which would "depend on the progress of the work", as revealed to our newspaper source Rotas do Algarve Litoral.

The GNR will be on site to monitor the works and traffic.
