A concert and an art exhibition, with an associated solidarity auction, are the means through which the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuseta will seek to raise funds to help victims of the forest fires that ravaged the country between the 17th and 19th of November.

The parish council of the municipality of Olhão will promote the event “Moncarapacho Solidário” and raise revenue that will later be deposited in the account created by the Portuguese Football Federation, for the construction/reconstruction of 1st dwelling houses for needy families affected by fires this summer.

The initiative begins on Friday, November 17, at 19 pm, with a jazz concert at the Igreja Matriz Nossa Senhora da Graça, in Moncarapacho, starring Martin Luke (percussion), Martin Teutscher (saxophone), Miguel Martins (bass) , Luís Fialho (guitar) and Paula Rocha (piano). The quintet will play fusion music, from classical to jazz.

Admission to the concert, as well as to other initiatives, is free, with spectators being encouraged to contribute a value at their discretion.

From Saturday (18 November) to Monday (20 November), between 15:00 pm and 20:00 pm, the Events Pavilion (in Largo do Mercado Mensal) will host MacMon – Moncarapacho Contemporary Art Exhibition, with exhibition and sale of works of art by various artists in the region.

On Sunday, November 19, from 18 pm, there will be an auction of the pieces offered by the artists, whose income will be destined to support families affected by forest fires.
