The Live Science Centers of Tavira and Algarve (Faro) promote the event “The Fire War: Science at the Service of the Forest”, on Saturday, the 25th, from 16:00 pm to 18:30 pm, at the Museu do Traje in São Brás de Alportel.

This event is part of a program of debates and activities promoted at national level by the Ciência Viva Centers during the Science and Technology Week, within the scope of the initiative promoted by Ciência Viva – National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture and by the Mission Unit for the Valorization of the Interior, contributing to a broad reflection on the contributions of science and technology to the valorization of the forest and to the prevention of forest fires.

The Program includes four short presentations, followed by a moment of reflection and collaborative debate in the “World Café” format, which «intends to contribute to the development of innovative ideas and solutions based on science, through the participation of citizens».

The short presentations will be in charge of João Martins, Vítor Gonçalves, Maria de Belém Freitas and a representative of the Association of Forest Producers of Serra do Caldeirão.
