This week, the Vila Real de Santo António Council launched an awareness campaign that calls on pet owners to collect the waste of their “four-legged friends”.

According to the municipality, "the action focuses, in particular, on the municipality's gardens and green spaces, places where there have been more complaints".

Simultaneously, the Chamber says that "it will bet on more efficient cleaning of dog waste in all parishes, simultaneously appealing to the collaboration of all residents in order to keep streets and green spaces cleaner."

With these measures, the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António intends to «increase the levels of urban hygiene in the municipality, making it more sustainable and with a better quality of life».
