The Private Hospital of Gambelas, in Faro, will have, from next Saturday, October 14th, a Hyperthermia Center in the Algarve, where innovative therapeutic techniques will be used in the treatment of cancer and some non-cancer neurovegetative diseases.

This service will be available at the Oncology Day Hospital.

The center will be "equipped with two modalities: Loco-Regional Hyperthermia by Radiofrequency and Whole Body Hyperthermia by Infrared", explains Grupo Hospitalar Particular do Algarve (HPA) Saúde.

“Both methods work alone, or in association with chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, with the aim of destroying tumor cells in cases of oncological diseases. In addition, they also have the ability to enhance the effect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, allowing to obtain results sooner», he adds.

"In addition to being non-invasive, these therapeutic modalities do not include any risks for the patient, nor do they cause additional relevant side effects."

The sessions are carried out in an outpatient setting, thus not requiring hospitalization. In Portugal, and now with the acquisition of Hyperthermia by the HPA Saúde Group, two centers are available.
