The “Autumn Fair – Gardens in a Mediterranean Climate” takes place this Saturday, October 28, at the Museu do Traje, in São Brás de Alportel, between 11:00 and 16:00.

The event introduces the world of gardens in a Mediterranean climate, with a space for displaying and selling plants, presenting photographs and holding lectures.

“Species of Barrocal with ornamental value” is the theme of the inaugural lecture and will be presented, from 11:30 am, by Ricardo Canas, from the University of Algarve.

At 13:00 pm, José Felipe will give the lecture “Your garden and house safer from fires” and, at 14:30 pm, the naturopath João Beles will talk about Medicinal Gardens.

Nature and art «is an ancestral link that also takes place at this fair» with the workshop “Impression with nature”, directed by artist Rachel Ramirez. As explained by the City Council of São Brás de Alportel, "this activity consists of creating paper prints directly from nature and its various elements."

In the enclosure, "there is also an opportunity to buy trees, plants, seeds and bulbs adapted to the local climate, specialized books and biological products", adds the municipality.

Visitors have, considers the City Council, «an interesting opportunity to learn more about the world of gardens in a Mediterranean climate and to obtain expert advice on gardening».

Admission is free for children under 16, and for over 16, entry costs one euro.

This event is organized by the Association for Gardens in a Mediterranean Climate, with the support of the Museu do Traje, the Group of Friends of the Museu do Traje of São Brás de Alportel and the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel.
