Chef Tiago Bonito will change the mainland of Amarante to venture into a Mar Adentro challenge. It will be next Saturday, October 14th, at the invitation of chef João Oliveira, from Vista Restaurante (Bela Vista Hotel & Spa), and Amuse Bouche, who are organizing for the third year the gastronomic event dedicated to the seas and sustainability.

The host of the kitchen at Largo do Paço (1* Michelin) joins Vasco Coelho Santos, from Euskalduna Studio, and João Oliveira, from Vista Restaurante, to present a special menu of nine moments created by six hands, prepared and served in full fishing vessel.

The unusual event takes place off Praia da Rocha, in Portimão, on the second day of the Mar Adentro event, an initiative promoted by Vista Restaurante and Amuse Bouche, with the main objective of raising awareness of sustainability issues, drawing the attention of professionals from cuisine and consumers in general for our waters and for the species we consume.

In its third edition, the Mar Adentro organization challenged Tiago Bonito, head of the restaurant at the charming hotel Casa da Calçada Relais & Châteaux (Amarante), who was readily available to participate, in order to show the diversity, uniqueness and the freshness of flavor that national fish offers to the highest cuisine.

Lunch made by chefs Tiago Bonito, Vasco Coelho Santos and João Oliveira, and harmonized with Niepoort's biological wines, is served on a fishing boat at 13 pm.

An hour before, on another trawling boat, the 34 participants in this day's event will have the opportunity to share experiences and acquire new knowledge about different marine species and sustainable consumption.

Dedicated, demanding and perfectionist, chef Tiago Bonito has been leading, since April this year, the kitchen team of the prestigious Largo do Paço (1* Michelin) restaurant in Amarante.

The menus he creates are configured as a sensory experience in an unforgettable setting.

In his creations, each ingredient completes a palette of memories and experiences that combined tell an unforgettable story, marveling and surprising the customer with the incredible combination of genuineness and wit.

They reflect his roots and his experiences, with a clear connection with the sea and the Portuguese coast, reflecting the beginning of his career in the Algarve and his passion for fishing, essence, wealth and respect in the manufacture of products.

Enthusiastically taking on his creative and innovative profile and his strong passion for the arts of cooking, chef Tiago Bonito is considered a confirmed talent of Portuguese haute cuisine, having won the title of Chef of the Year in 2011, in the same competition in which he was distinguished with the Innovation Trophy.
