The National Underwater Photography Championship, which ended yesterday, October 15, in Sagres, had the participation of seven teams made up of photographers and models/assistants.

The initiative, which culminated in the presentation of photographs taken during the competition, attracted the best of Portugal to Sagres to capture the best images of the underwater world. The participants, stresses the Vila do Bispo Chamber, "obtained excellent results", as the seabed of this municipality "are rich in biodiversity".

In the end, prizes were awarded to the first five places in the competition categories and to the first three places in the General, in a ceremony that took place at Forte do Beliche.

Another highlight was the participation, in this event, of the children in the Extra Curricular Activity «Deepening of Local Heritage», with the creation of several drawings alluding to the theme.

Organized by the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities and by the PuraVida Divehouse Company, the initiative had the support of the Vila do Bispo City Council, the IPDJ and several companies in the region, such as Mar Ilimitado, Memmo Baleeira Hotel, Cape Cruiser, Mares and Restaurant Carlos.
