Architects Miguel Reimão and Jennifer Silva Pereira were the big winners of the Municipal Architecture and Landscape Architecture Prize of the City Council of Faro. The two designers are the authors of the proposal called “Rehabilitation of Building in Vila Adentro, located at Rua Rasquinho, nº 19, in Faro”, who won 1st prize.

In addition to this distinction, there were two honorable mentions, one for the architect Emanuel José Pereira Aniceto, author of the project identified as “Rehabilitation, Conservation and Alteration of a Building, located at Rua Serpa Pinto, n.ºs 27, 29, 31, 33 and 39, and Rua Batista Pinto, nos. 25 and 26, in Faro”, the other for the architect Isabel Vaz Serra and the Landscape Architect Miguel Marques Pereira, who designed the Parque Ribeirinho de Faro.

This prize, with a value of 1500 euros for the winners of each category in the competition, is finally awarded, after having been officially resumed in 2101. But, explained the Chamber of Faro, only now has it been possible to attribute it, "in view of the known financial constraints with which the autarchy has struggled".

The municipality of Faro appreciated proposals that were received until May 31, 2017 and divided them into two categories, "Outdoor spaces" and "Recovery/rehabilitation", attributing 1500 euros to the winner of each of them - in addition to the winners of the 1st prize, the authors of the Parque Ribeirinho proposal also receive money.

In all three cases, there will be public recognition by the municipality, which will identify “each work awarded with the plaque indicating the award of the award”.
The Chamber of Faro promises “soon” the holding of the awards ceremony and the exhibition of the winning projects.
