Writer and journalist Amos Oz is the author of the month of November at the Municipal Library of Olhão. 

Born in Jerusalem, in 1939, he currently lives in Arad, "where he has been dedicated to the cause of peace between Palestinians and Israelis," says the Chamber of Olhão.

In addition to being a writer and journalist, he is also a professor of Literature at Ben-Gurion University.

His vast work includes novels and essays translated into more than thirty languages, of which titles such as “A Caixa negra”, “Conhecer um Mulher”, “A third condition”, “A panther in the basement” or “A panther in the basement” are published in Portugal Scenes from village life”.

 

In 2007, Amos Oz was awarded the Prince of Asturias Prize.
