Four aerial means are fighting a fire in the Ludo forest, in the area of border between the councils of Faro and from Loulé. The fire has been raging since about 16 pm and is being fought by a strong device, which, in addition to helicopters, has 00 operators and 153 vehicles.

Contacted by Sul Informação, the mayor of Faro Rogério Bacalhau said he had already been in contact with the commander of Bombeiros Sapadores de Faro, who were already going to the place. “When I spoke to him, shortly after receiving the alert, he was close to the site, but he had not yet arrived there. He told me that it could already be in the territory of Loulé, which doesn't matter, because what matters is fighting it», he said.

The mayor from Faro is awaiting more information about the fire, whose column is clearly visible from afar, namely in the city of Faro.

According to the website of the National Civil Protection Authority, the flames are active in the Gambelas area, a town in the parish of Montenegro where one of the fields of the University of the Algarve.

Even so, fire, according to Rogério Bacalhau, "walks far", either from campus, either of Gambelas itself.
