The "We Citizens!" is running for two Municipal Councils in the Algarve: Portimão, headed by former social democrat Mário Cintra, and Tavira, in a candidacy led by Carlos Marcelino, better known as “Carlinhos”.

In Portimão, the candidacy of “We, Citizens!” it is a mirror of the deep divergences that have affected the PSD since the past Local Elections of 2013 and which, in the preparation of the new electoral act for next Sunday, October 1st, have only deepened.

Because Mário Cintra was a member of the PSD Council of Portimão and had pretensions to be number 2 on the list of the CDS/PSD coalition to the Portimão Chamber, but ended up moving away from the party, accepting to apply under the acronym "We Citizens". As a matter of fact, attesting to the division of the orange hosts of Portimão, as head of the list for the Municipal Assembly for this party, there is doctor José Dias, who was already elected councilor by the PSD, in the Portimão Chamber.

In Tavira, the case is different: the candidate is a well-known figure in the city, Carlos Marcelino, or “Carlinhos”. Shoeshineer by profession, Carlinhos is running for the Municipal Council and Assembly at the same time, under the acronym “We, Citizens!”.

Despite only having these two candidacies for the Municipal Councils of the Algarve, the party also insisted on supporting the re-candidacy of socialist António Miguel Pina to the Chamber of Olhão.
