The 2017 Al-Buhera Festival attracted «thousands of people» to Albufeira between the 26th and 30th of July. The Municipality of Albufeirense made a positive assessment of this edition of the event, "which stood out both for the quality of the musical poster and for the number of visitors, who filled the venue every night."

In addition to the music of artists from the region and «established names in Portuguese music», those who visited the venue located in Praça dos Pescadores found stalls and tents where traditional crafts and arts were known, «with more than fifty artisans working the pieces live, from jewelry to embroidery, canvas, cork or copper items, decorative candles, among others».

Dried fruits, preserves, regional sweets, jams, honey, liqueurs, sausages, handmade ice cream, gourmet toast and skewered pork were some of the products that could be found in the area.

“The Al-Buhera Festival is a source of pride for us. The event is already part of the main cultural and tourist itineraries at national level, attracting thousands of visitors”, considered the mayor of Albufeira Carlos Silva e Sousa.

Over the course of the five days, he explained, the aim was to disseminate the cultural identity of Albufeira through what is produced in the municipality «in a genuine and authentic way». On the other hand, local artists were able to promote their work and share the stage "with national stars".
