A 33-year-old man and two 5-year-old children were rescued this Wednesday night, August 16, by the Maritime Police and Fire Department of Lagos, after being held in an inaccessible location in Praia Grande, Lagos.

According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), it was found that this family would have gone "to ride in an inflatable rowing boat, with about two meters, at 20:30", leaving Camilo beach.

Except that “due to the wind and currents, they were unable to turn back, staying in Praia Grande where they remained until the arrival of the means of assistance”.

Thus, at 21:42 pm, a telephone communication from the Lagos Volunteer Fire Department was received at the Maritime Police picket, informing them of the occurrence. After 23 minutes, at 22:05 pm, «it was possible to verify that the family was in a place of difficult access, and it was necessary to go down the cliff», explains AMN.

The two children and their father were eventually rescued with the help of the Lagos Volunteer Firefighters, not requiring medical support.
