A photographic exhibition on the urban evolution of Armação de Pêra will be on display at the Paços do Concelho de Silves building until the end of August.
The exhibition contains photographs that belong to the collection of the Municipal Archive of Silves, which promotes it, and that reveal the growth of the fishing village after its “opening” to tourism, after the 60s of the XNUMXth century.
"There is a note of unordered growth motivated by tourist growth, but also the emergence of various facilities that benefited residents and visitors, such as the Parish Council, a school canteen, the fish market, the post office and support for fishermen", describes the Chamber of Silves.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 16:00 pm.
