The cycle of concerts “Clássica em Cacela” returns to the town of Cacela Velha, on August 17th and 24th, «bringing intimate concerts in peculiar spaces».

This year, with the theme String Quartets, the initiative brings to Cacela Velha the quartets “Suonart” and “Prana”, whose performances will take place in the old cemetery.

Aiming to be an erudite and quality alternative within the summer cultural offer of the eastern Algarve, and at the same time focusing on young talents and less familiar repertoires of the general public, “Clássica em Cacela” enters this year in its 8th edition.

In addition to the dissemination of classical music, the project aims to disseminate the material and immaterial heritage of Cacela Velha, namely the Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção, the old cemetery, the sections of the wall that delimited the village in the medieval and modern periods and the residential buildings with characteristics of the vernacular architecture of the Algarve.

The cycle “Clássica em Cacela” is organized by the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António and has the collaboration of Associação Música XXI. The artistic direction is in charge of the Algarve flutist Teresa Matias.

Tickets cost 6 euros and can be purchased on site or booked by calling 281 952 600 or by calling 967 043 435.
