The replacement of the lighting at the Moncarapacho Health Center is causing controversy. The Regional Health Administration (ARS) went public to contest the work, made by the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuzeta, as the entry "of a non-working person, without competence for the purpose" may have placed "the very safety of professionals and users of those facilities at risk".

According to ARS, it was "with strangeness" that the entity became aware of that replacement.

Not least because «the respective processes of acquisition of material have already been concluded, after the survey of priority needs in the various health units in the region», with the intervention in the Health Center of Moncarapacho scheduled for this month of August.

For ARS, the attitude of that Union of Parishes was “pure political use and contempt for the necessary and fundamental communication and institutional articulation”.

That entity goes further, accusing Manuel Carlos, president of the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuzeta, of having exceeded "his competences", contributing to "foster unnecessary social alarmism, mistrust and discredit the National Health Service among the population, in which everyone loses and no one benefits».

In the news in question, that mayor «makes serious accusations against ARS Algarve about the “lack of action by the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve” in the local Health Pole», something that the entity «refutes».
