The Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality will be tomorrow, Friday, the 14th, in Portimão and Faro.
Catarina Marcelino's visit begins at 16:30 pm, with the government official participating in the closing of the presentation of the Plan for Gender Equality, Citizenship and Non-Discrimination, in the municipality of Portimão, scheduled for the auditorium of the Portimão Museum.
Two hours later, at 18:30 pm, the Secretary of State visits the premises of the Movement in Support of AIDS Problems (MAPS), in Faro, where he will hold a meeting with those responsible for this institution.
The presentation session of the Municipal Plan for Gender Equality, Citizenship and Non-Discrimination for the Municipality of Portimão starts at 15:00.
The implementation of a Municipal Plan for Gender Equality (2017-2021) will allow the Municipality of Portimão to “actively contribute to the promotion of Gender Equality by raising awareness among all those who live or work here about the issues related to language , parenthood, labor rights, combating stereotypes and above all respect for each one».
"This is another decisive step in the consolidation of Portimão as a participatory, inclusive, equitable and cohesive Municipality whose main priority is the well-being and defense of the rights of its citizens", stresses the municipality.
The public presentation of the Municipal Plan for Gender Equality, in addition to making known the framework and the respective action plan, will also be a moment for sharing experiences and good practices at national level and with other municipalities, as well as with local companies .
