Crafts, music and gastronomy are the motto for the Al-Buhera Festival, which is «one of the most awaited events of the Algarve summer», and takes place from 26 to 30 July, from 19 pm to 00 am, at Praça dos Pescadores, in Albufeira .

This year there are more than fifty artisans, companies and associations that will show the best and most genuine of what is done nationally and in other parts of the world, namely Morocco, Goa and Ecuador.

The artisans will have «genuine pieces, produced from traditional materials such as copper, wood, cork, stones and shells from the beach, leather items, jewelry, textiles, painting and decorative objects», explains the City Council of Albufeira.

One of the Festival's attractions is being able to see some of these artisans working live, in arts considered to be ancient.

In addition to handicrafts, visitors can find gastronomic products, such as dried fruits, jams, honey, liqueurs, preserves, regional and creative sweets, food and beverage products from Madeira Island.

There is also a component of street food, with some roulottes distributed throughout the space, offering the visitor handmade ice cream, toast gourmet, craft beer, kebab and the traditional skewered pork.

In terms of music, the poster is "luxury", according to the City Council of Albufeira.

«The animation program, which always starts at 21 pm, except for street entertainment that starts at 00 pm, has been improving year after year, trying to bring in the best national artists and bands, not forgetting the musicians from region that are responsible for making the first part of the show», explains the municipality of Albufeirense.

On the first day (26), the band, from Albufeira, Banda Alhada does the honors of the house by taking the stage before the Angolan singer and composer Matias Damásio.
