The renowned publisher Springer has just launched a new magazine entitled Journal of Paleolithic Archeology, part of a collaboration between the Interdisciplinary Center for Archeology and Evolution of Human Behavior (ICArEHB) at the University of Algarve and the Department of Human Evolution at the Max Planck Institute (MPI), Leipzig, Germany.

Researchers Shannon McPherron (MPI) and Nuno Bicho (ICArEHB) are founding members and current editors-in-chief of the publication.

The new magazine, with format open access and peer review, intends to constitute itself as «an international reference for archaeologists and other scientists».

The journal accepts publications "with a wide spectrum of specializations, focusing on the development of Paleolithic archeology around the world, primarily on the publication of new perspectives and data on human biological and cultural evolution during this period".
