These activities will pay homage to and draw «attention to the importance of preserving marine life in our region, to the value of the water resource, to the need to change our attitudes, as well as to the fulfillment of the established Sustainable Development Goals by the UN, of which the European Union is a part as a whole”, explains the CCDR.

Another of the initiatives will be a flashmob for what the Europe Direct Algarve Center invites everyone to dress in blue, «after sharing on the page of Facebook do Europe Direct Algarve, a photograph with caption, indicating the school/institution and location». In the end, there are even gifts of participation.

The European Union continues, according to CCDR Algarve, “to make the environment one of its flags”. "Examples are the European years dedicated to the environment, volunteering, citizenship or development, the proclamation of the European Natura 2000 Day, celebrated on 21 May, in addition to those of Energy, Biodiversity, the Sea" and the fact that the Union Energy and Climate to be “one of the 10 priorities of European policies”.
