The march from Rua da Cabine, in Quarteira, will parade, on the night of June 12 (Santo António), along Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon.

«At the invitation of the organization of what is one of the biggest events of the Festas de Lisboa program and a true tourist attraction in the country, Rua da Cabine will show itself to thousands of people, live and in color, alongside prestigious marches such as Alfama, Mouraria, Madragoa, Castelo or Marvila that, year after year, have been shining in this popular festival», says Câmara de Loulé.

This participation in Santo António Lisbon is «recognition of the work that has been developed, over the years, by the marchers and all those involved in the organization of the Quarteira Marches, as well as the Bahian spirit and determination of the people from Quarteira in this event. », explains the Loulé autarchy.

«Year after year, the quality levels of choreographies, costumes and decoration of the parade grounds in Quarteira have increased significantly, and it is also for this reason that Rua da Cabine received the invitation to join the Lisbon Marches». adds.

After Lisbon, the Marcha da Rua Cabine participates in the parade of the Popular Marches of Quarteira, on the Calçadão de Quarteira, on the nights of 23rd and 28th June, and in Praça da República, in Loulé, on the 25th of June.

The Rua da Cabine March was born in 1993 from the enthusiasm of an organizing committee of 20 curious elements who directed it only in this first year.

Due to the success achieved, it continued its organization by Leonor Emídio, who currently owns it, together with Bruno Guerreiro, presenting during these years themes such as “Aguadeiras e Ceifeira”, “Quarteira dos Manjericos”, “Calçada Portuguesa”, “Senhora do Sea” or “Amália and Eusébio, Symbols of Portugal”.

«These two elements have been tireless, over the years, both in the organization and in the idealization of costumes and arches, as well as in the choreography and composition of lyrics and music», concludes Câmara de Loulé.
