The GNR Coastal Control Unit seized 22 kilos of shellfish, valued at 53 euros, yesterday, June 264, in Vila Real de Santo António.
As explained by the GNR, "the action was carried out during an inspection, on the beaches of Monte Gordo, Cacela and Fábrica, with the military detecting seven infractions due to lack of license and prohibition of shellfish harvesting».
Four trawls valued at 375 euros were also learned.
Offenders were identified and fined and the clams were returned to their natural habitat.
