The Chamber of São Brás de Alportel guarantees that it has invited Francisco neves, leader of the PSD bench in the Municipal Assembly, to be present at the meeting held on Monday, June 5th, with the Minister of Health, in Lisbon, and that he was the one to choose the representative of this party at the meeting.
The São Brasense municipal executive, presided over by the socialist Vítor Guerreiro, thus responded to the accusations of the local PSD, which alleged that the presence of an opposition councilor in the delegation that went to the Ministry to talk about the situation of the Center for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the South. In response, Vítor Guerreiro accuses the opposition party of uttering "false accusations and untruths".
According to the PSD, Vítor Guerreiro would have denied the intention of the Social Democratic councilors to accompany the meeting and invited Tiago Silva, who belonged on the PSD lists to the Municipal Assembly, in 2013, but «did not get elected, nor did he participate in any assembly ».
The executive PS of the Chamber of São Brás de Alportel now clarifies that the PSD representative in the delegation was chosen by the leader of the social-democratic caucus in AM, who was invited "in person" by Vítor Guerreiro and "already during the weekend , contacted the Office of Support to the Presidency to inform that, due to incompatibilities of the agenda, it would not be possible to be present, informing that, in representation of the party, Tiago Silva would be present».
Also invited to be present at the meeting was the leader of the CDU bench Francisco Keil do Amaral, who was represented by Botelho Agulhas.
"The meeting was held at my request and I made a point of inviting representatives from the various sectors of workers in this health unit, as well as from all political parties represented in the Municipal Assembly, a local authority that gives voice to the São Brasense community, to, in together, we defend the full functioning of this hospital unit, which is essential for the health and well-being of the population. This is a battle in which we should all be united and that deserves to be treated with respect and seriousness. I very much regret this situation and vehemently repudiate the use of false accusations and untruths, which seem to be aimed at deceiving the residents, who deserve respect and dignity», considered Vítor Guerreiro, in a clarification statement sent to the editorial offices.
