Lagoa will celebrate World Children's Day between June 1st and 4th, at the Centro de Congressos do Arade, in Parchal, with several recreational and cultural activities dedicated to the little ones.
According to the Câmara de Lagoa, «at the Arade Congress Center and surrounding area there will be lots of fun for students from the Rio Arade and ESPAMOL School Groups, Nobel International School Algarve and children from the IPSS in the municipality, from 9:00 am to 15:30 pm and for the public generally from 17:30 pm to 23:00 pm”.
The program includes street entertainment, inflatables for all ages, balloon modeling clowns, various workshops – face painting, flowers with bottles, planes with clothes pegs, maracas with water bottles, binoculars with toilet paper rolls, puppets with socks used cars, windmills – and plastic arts exhibitions and activities.
In this place will be exhibited the work of students in the scope of “Green Week (Green Week) – Plant your tree!” and also the “My fruit tree” initiative, which is part of the Green Cork Lagoa project.
A plastic arts activity will also be developed, integrated in the same project, with the construction of a farol with two meters, within the scope of the theme adopted by the Municipality of Lagoa for the year 2017 “Heritage, looking at the Past, towards the Future”.
For the 1st of June, at 10:30 am and 14:30 pm, and for the 2nd, at 10:30 am, the Frozen theater show “O Reino do Gelo” is scheduled at the Auditorium of the Centro de Congressos do Arade. This piece will have sessions for children from basic education and pre-school education from the public, private and social network.
The book “ReciclArte – Ideas to create and recycle all year”, by Ana Nobre, will be offered to all children in the 1st cycle and to educators and teachers of the pre-school and 1st cycle, also within the scope of the “Children's Festival ”.
Cinema won't be missing from this party either, and on the 1st and 2nd of June, at 21 pm, there will be open air sessions at the Arade Congress Center
For the 3rd, at 21 pm, a musical show by Sónia Araújo is scheduled, in the area surrounding the Arade Congress Center and, on the following day, at 00 pm, “The Adventure of Fossegrim on the Arade River” will be presented in the auditorium. integrated in the Arts-Education Project “Tales from the Sea | Fossegrim's Adventure on the Rio Arade”, which was developed with the children who attend the kindergartens of the Rio Arade Schools Group.
This project involved around 200 children, educators and operational staff and was promoted by the Municipality of Lagoa, with production and artistic direction by the Academy of Music of Lagos – Conservatório de Música de Lagoa.
