According to the Chamber of Faro, this contact, together with the practice of physical exercise in the open air, was even «the great attraction» for the initiative.

In this event, 260 health screenings were also carried out, which included the measurement of blood pressure, blood glucose and body mass index.

Aiming to raise awareness of the preservation of the environment, under the motto “do not leave more than your footprints”, there was also the collaboration of the municipal company FAGAR which, in the precinct and throughout the route, distributed differentiated containerization.

The program also included moments of animation accompanied by More Algarve, as the performance of the Folklore Group of Faro and a warm-up and stretching session led by Judo Clube do Algarve.

The organization made available to all participants a renewed "multisports area", supported by Decathlon Faro and by the School of Education and Communication of the University of Algarve, a “pic-nic space”, an “exhibition area” promoted by the Entreposto Group, “and many thousands of oranges and waters (with the support of Cacial, Frutas Álvaro Paço and Jumbo from Faro)”, says the municipality.

Of the 4000 participants, 150 concern the 3rd edition of the Ria Formosa Trail, held in partnership with Altimetria Associação Desportiva. On the podium, in males, were Paulo Soares (1st), Rui Martins (2nd) and Carlos Alves (3rd).

In females, in 1st place was Ana Grande, followed by Patrícia Cabrita, with Cátia Neto (3rd) closing the accounts.

«From the opinions gathered at the end of the event from the participants, it was concluded that the degree of satisfaction with the initiative was very high, in what is considered by many to be the best and biggest sporting event in the Algarve and in the calendar of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth . The beauty of the place where the activity takes place, the routes provided, the initial animation, the careful organization of the event and the favorable climate, were factors that contributed to the success of the event», says the Chamber of Faro.
