The «Jazz Days» return to Faro this month, they bring with them a dash of flamenco and don't do without a battle of orchestras. Teatro das Figuras and Club Farense receive the third edition of this festival between the 20th and 28th of May and propose shows «with very different approaches to this musical genre, which promise to surprise the public».

The event starts in a lively way, with the initiative «Big Band Battle», «an “epic” battle between two orchestras». On stage, the Algarve Jazz Orchestra and the Jorge Costa Pinto Orchestra will be face to face, with the help of the voices of Maria Anadon and George Esteves, respectively.

"This show will be a recreation of the golden 30s, of the Great Orchestras in American ballrooms, full of world-famous themes", guaranteed the Municipal Theater of Faro, which organizes the event.

The party continues on May 24th, with the «AnarkoFlamenco» to bring the Faro a fusion of flamenco and jazz. «The band led by Maluk, former member of the band Ojos de Brujo, will bring Broken Boots, in a visceral spectacle of contemporary jazz without barriers. The Brazilian flamenco dancer Maluk, the son of a Portuguese father and a Spanish mother, transcends flamenco and plays a role much more percussive than choreographic», described TMF.

The festival's last concert is scheduled for the 28th of May and will be held at the Club Farense lounge Manuela Lopes and the Four Brothers Jazz Band. The show to be presented will have «a modern and unusual approach» and is based «on an American songbook, recreated in Portuguese, with arrangements by the quartet and lyrics by the singer herself».

Tickets for the shows at Teatro das Figuras cost 10 euros. Tickets for the show on the 28th vary between 5 euros for Club Farense members and 7 euros for the general public.
