Films on the screen, but also a proposal for “Cine-Dinner”, which will bring together cinema and gastronomy (in Italian fashion), are proposals for the 10th Italian Film Festival, to be held from 12 to 14 May , at the Cine-Teatro Louletano.

Some of the best cinema productions in that country will pass through Loulé, who is the Algarve's representative at the event.

For example, on the 12th, at 21 pm, the film “If God want“, by Edoardo Falcone. On Saturday 13th, at 16:30 pm, the organization proposes an Italian class for beginners (with prior registration and limited places). At 19 pm, the film “a potty“, by Ivan Cotroneo, and at 21 pm, “Perfect strangers“, by Paolo Genovese.

Then, at 19 pm, the “Cine-Dinner”. On the menu, created by Head Francesco Angelo Igliari: Focaccia olio and rosmarino and frittatina di parmigiano and cipolle rosse (Focaccia bread homemade cheese and parmesan cheese omelet and red onion), Pappa al pomodoro with basil, pesto alla genovese and burrata (Italian-style tomato migas with basil, pesto genovese and cheese burrata) to Caprese cake (Chocolate tart with almonds and walnuts).

As a complement to the dinner, the film “Firenze and gli Uffizi“, by Luca Viotto, a multidimensional and multisensory journey to the Renaissance through its most representative beauties.

Ticket price for each film is 3 euros. The “Cine-Dinner” has a cost of 15 euros (includes the film “Firenze and gli Uffizi"), with mandatory reservation through [email protected] or [email protected]

In addition to Loulé, the Italian Film Festival will be in Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Caldas da Rainha, Viana do Castelo, Tomar, Almada, Setúbal, Coimbra. Internationally, it also takes place in Luanda (Angola), Maputo (Mozambique) and seven cities in Brazil.

The event is organized by the Association Overtaking, with the support of the Italian Embassy, ​​Lisbon Italian Institute of Culture and Loulé City Council/Cine-Teatro Louletano. For more information click here

12 May (Friday) | 21:00 pm:

"If God want", by Edoardo Falcone, 90 minutes

Tommaso is a respected surgeon who goes into crisis when his son, a medical student, announces he wants to be a priest. The figure who inspires this sudden vocation is the charismatic Don Pietro. Tommaso has no choice but to approach him in hopes of discovering the innermost secrets of this unconventional priest.

A comedy full of surprises that talks about religion, the need to return to a direct and human relationship with faith and the prejudices that sometimes prevent us from discovering the truth.

19:00 - "A kiss“, by Ivan Cotroneo, 101 minutes

21:00 – “Perfetti sconosciuti”, by Paolo Genovese, 97′

We all have three lives: public, private and secret. Until now, the secret life was well hidden in our mind, nowadays it is hidden in our cards SIMs.. What would happen if these little cards started talking? That's what these friends will discover when, over dinner, they decide to put their cell phones on the table to prove they have nothing to hide. A film about our big and small hypocrisies and about the object that increasingly commands our lives, in what was one of last year's great successes in Italy.

The heartfelt tribute of the Festa do Cinema Italiano to one of the most beloved characters of the international public: Bud Spencer.” Lo Chiamavano Trinità”, the film that created the myth of this pair of friends of easy slaps, is a dive back to the 70s when Italian popular cinema reached the four corners of the world. A fun parody of Western Spaghetti.

21:00 - "Firenze and gli Uffizi“, by Luca Viotto, 93 minutes

"Firenze and gli Uffizi” is a multidimensional and multisensory journey to the Renaissance through its most representative beauties. The first cinematographic tour that leads the viewer to discover the wonders of Florence in an unprecedented, comprehensive and spectacular way: Botticelli, Leonardo, Masaccio and Michelangelo all on the same screen.

Viewers are involved in a unique experience with surprising sequences and impressive images of the city. The narration is the responsibility of Simon Merrells who, in the role of Lourenço the Magnificent, accompanies us through the memories of his Florence in an incessant dialogue between the past and the present.
