The artists who will participate in the Academic Week of the University of Algarve, which will take place between the 4th and 13th of May at the Penha Sports Complex, in Faro, will be announced today, the 6th of April, in a session that will take place at Forum Algarve's FNAC store.

The Academic Association of UAlg (AAUAlg) will announce the official poster of the 32nd edition of the event, after revealing the names of three artists: Djodje (5th May, Kizomba), DJ Kura (6th May) and Mishlawi ( May 10th, hip-hop).

This Thursday, AAUAlg will once again make a double presentation, the first more directed towards the media and partner entities, which will take place at FNAC, and the other thinking about university students, during the academic camp that will be promoted this evening , at the UAlg Penha Campus, in Faro.

The 2017 Academic Week begins at 23:59 on May 4th, a Thursday, with the Monumental Serenata de Apertura, in charge of the InVersus group. From the 5th, the concerts will take place in the «País das Maravilhas», which will be installed again in Penha, as in recent years.

Bênção das Pastas, a ceremony that symbolizes the end of the course for final year students at the University of the Algarve (UAlg), will take place on Saturday, May 6, at the Estádio de São Luís, and will be directed by the Bishop of Algarve. In other words, this year the finalists' party takes place on SA's first weekend, instead of on the second Saturday, the last day of the event.

«The 32nd Academic Week of the Algarve will also feature the Academic Week Parade, as well as the interaction projects of the students of the University of Algarve with kids and adults, called “FaroJunior" and "FaroSenior”, respectively, among other activities”, according to AAUAlg.

The event's organizers also reveal that the 500 weekly tickets that were made available in the first pre-sale (cheaper) sold out, «with the prospect of an increase in the public every day of the event».
