Underprivileged students of 1st cycle schools Faro will again have access to meals in school canteens during the Easter holidays. The city council repeats this measure of a social nature in the next school break, similarly to what it has been doing, for the benefit of the 87 students enrolled in the Food Support Program.

The municipality says that, with this measure, it will guarantee "that these children have at least one full meal each day of the Easter break."

The meals will be served between the 5th and 18th of April in eight establishments in the municipality, namely the EB1/JI schools of Carmo, Conceição, Santa Bárbara de Nexe, Montenegro and Bordeira, the Basic School of Lejana and the EB1 in Faro nº4 (Penha) and Areal Gordo.

With this action, the Chamber of Faro it aims to “reduce the economic constraints that some of the families still have to bear, also contributing to the necessary and balanced nutrition of the municipality's children”.
