Miguel Nery Gago, UFAD-Judo Alvor athlete, won, last Saturday, the 15th, second place in the Judo Scotland Sportif International Tournament, which took place in Edinburgh.

Miguel Gago, current National Youth Champion (-42 kg), "held an incredible race", according to UFAD-Alvor, "giving up only in the final before the representative of England", in a tournament that was attended by more than 500 athletes from 10 countries.

The club from Alvor also highlights the "many good performances" of Pedro U​lrich (5th place) and Alexandre Bucur (7th place). Miguel Colesnic and Tiago Lourenço also participated in the event, but failed to qualify. The Algarve judokas were accompanied by coach Cristian Alderete Bernal.

This tournament serves as preparation for the National Youth Championship, which takes place in June, in Lisbon.
