The X Algarve Wine Contest is scheduled for March 19, at the Convento de S. José, in Lagoa, with the support of the Algarve Wine Commission and the Portuguese Sommelier Association.
In the competition, which will award the best wines in the Algarve, producers in the region will submit their products to a blind tasting, in which a group of tasters, all renowned Escanções da AEP, will evaluate, according to the defined criteria, the typicality and quality . Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals and the Great Gold Medal will be awarded to the best wine in the Algarve.
The awards will be given during the Algarve Wine Symposium, during the Lagoa Wine Show 2017, which takes place from 28 to 30 April at the Centro de Congressos do Arade, in Parchal.
The Municipality of Lagoa thus maintains all its commitment to the dissemination of Algarve wines in general, and Lagoa in particular, stating that it is «aware of the need, through events of this type, to support producers, in order to make the exceptional Algarve wine known throughout the world».
