The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) will be present at the Mar Algarve / Feira do Mar'17, which takes place from the 23rd to the 25th of March, at Portimão Arena. IPMA will be present in the exhibition area, but also with the seminar “Innovation and Opportunities in Fishing and Aquaculture in the Algarve”, by researchers Miguel Gaspar and Pedro Pousão, to take place on the 23rd.

The Blue Economy theme, which will once again be highlighted in the initiative, will be made known through gastronomy, conferences or exhibitions. In addition, there will be the sale of various products and services, recreational boating and the sale of boats.

This is because the event is based on four major aspects: exhibition, educational, gastronomic and business. Within the framework of Mar Algarve, the “I Congress of Maritime-Tourism” will take place, in which matters of interest to this activity “which has had a significant growth in the Algarve”, will be discussed, according to IPMA.

The exhibition will also include public entities with institutional and regulatory responsibilities in the areas of commercial and recreational ports, tourism and the sea, as well as research centres, municipalities, clubs and associations

This event is a co-organization between the Municipality of Portimão and Maralgarve – Association for the Promotion of Knowledge and the Economy of the Sea in the Algarve.
