Diogo Piçarra, from the Algarve, will perform at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium, on Friday, February 17, at 21 pm, and will continue the cycle of concerts GAJ – Youth Support Office.
This is, by the way, a concert with the youngest population in the municipality in mind, namely students, who have a 50% discount on the ticket price.
The show will be based on the album «Espelho», the first by the natural musician from Faro, produced in 2015 by Fred Ferreira (Orelha Negra, Buraka Som Sistema and Banda do Mar).
Before Diogo Piçarra showed «his exceptional qualities as a performer, composer and lyricist», the group «Primes do Zé» will perform, which, according to the Câmara de Albufeira, is «a band that is part of a new generation of musicians from Albufeira which, within the scope of this initiative, will have the opportunity to share the stage with big names in the national music scene».
Despite his youth, Diogo Piçarra has been a true phenomenon of success. His fame came with his victory in the television contest «Idols», where he was awarded a scholarship at the London Music School and a record contract with Universal Music Portugal.
Since then, the artist from Farense has seen a growing legion of fans who follow him and support him on social networks and have been given cards in record sales. «It has more than 350 thousand views on VEVO, while on Youtube it has already reached 67 thousand followers (over 9 million views). On Facebook it has already surpassed 98 thousand fans, almost 16 thousand on Instagram and around 10 thousand on Twitter», illustrated the Câmara de Albufeira.
Tickets for the show cost 10 euros for the general public and 5 euros for Albufeira student card holders. They can be purchased at the City Council (CIAC) and at the Municipal Swimming Pools (GAJ), on weekdays from 9:00 am to 13:0 pm and from 14:00 pm to 16:30 pm. On the day of the show, they will be on sale at the Municipal Auditorium, from 19:30 pm.
The GAJ Concerts Cycle, which began with a concert by Capicua, will continue until the month of May. This is followed by shows with Filipo Pinto (March 31), Orelha Negra (April 28) and Freddy Locks (May 26).
