The current councilor Ana Vidigal will once again apply to the Municipal Council of Albufeira and again as head of the list of the VIVA citizens' movement – Vontade Independente Viver Albufeira.
“Like what happened in 2013, we are building a project that is strong, credible, realistic and capable of being implemented. It is a plural candidacy, for Albufeira, for its people, from everyone and for everyone», says the independent candidate.
Ana Vidigal's candidacy stresses, in a statement, that «the principles of independence, rigor, dedication, transparency and truth that guided all decision-making by those elected in the different bodies in which VIVA is represented preside over this candidacy, based on , once again, in the growing use of tools that serve policies that promote active citizenship and participatory democracy».
«With determination and determination, we managed to implement many of our designs, such as the Albufeira participatory budget, but it was also possible to develop systematic work, in proximity to services and people, which is why excellent results were achieved, with true sense of sharing, in decision-making, in areas such as the environment, water and sanitation, civil protection, the social area, health, and safety at work. It was actually possible to achieve a reduction in the tax burden for families and companies, and also in the water and waste tariff», says Ana Vidigal.
«We imprint a new logic of work and trust, either with the population of Albufeira, or with the municipal services or local actors, in the search for solutions for our land". The candidate believes that this is the only way to build a fairer, more solidary and united Albufeira around the municipality's development. It is in this context that in the current mandate, until today and in the future, we promote consensus and stability in all local authorities, contributing to a constructive attitude and in favor of better and more efficient local governance», adds the candidate of the independent movement.
“Today, February 20, was not chosen by chance for the launch of this candidacy”, adds Ana Vidigal, “coincides with the World Day of Social Justice, instituted by the UN since 2007, which promotes, among other goals, the elimination of poverty, access to decent employment, improving the well-being of populations or combating any type of discrimination or inequality, goals that on our scale, and in the context of Albufeira, we intend to achieve with our project».
The VIVA Movement says that it faces the challenge «as a project for the future, sustainable, aimed at the effective needs of the population, from the youth to the elderly, with a focus on the social area, health, equal opportunities, education, employment, in the environment, in culture, in security and in the promotion of economic and tourist development”.
