The book «De Vento em Pipa – When Wine and Man Invented Lagoa» was nominated for the award Best Wine Book of the YearTwo Gourmand Awards 2016. The work of the ethnobotany photographer and researcher Susana Neves, published by Câmara de Lagoa, was chosen among the books published in Portugal in the final phase of this international competition.

O Best Wine Book of the Year it is “the only international competition in the sector, with registration open to publishers in all languages ​​and in which books from 205 countries participate”, according to Câmara de Lagoa. The Algarve work will compete with those of other nations, with the winners of the 2016 edition of the competition to be announced on May 28th and 29th, at a ceremony taking place in Yantai, China.

"You Gourmand World Awards, known as the Oscars of cookbooks, were founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau and distinguish the best cookbooks and wines, edited the previous year on paper or digital format, as well as cooking TV shows and all the important people in the world in their Gala. food and books: hundreds of publishers, authors, chefs and journalists from all over the world», according to the Chamber.
