JSD Algarve asked José Carlos Barros and Cristóvão Norte, PSD deputies elected by the circle of Faro, to take to the Social Democratic Parliamentary Group the discussion on the limitation of terms in the Social Democratic bench.

The proposal, delivered to the Algarve's PSD deputies, reads that "the principle of renewal is a principle of ethics, transparency and independence of political activity, with special relevance when it comes to the exercise of elected positions of a political nature, whether this is executive or non-executive'. This limitation already exists, but for mayors or Parish Councils, being that it lasts for three terms.

JSD Algarve considers that the way to achieve this term limitation is a "constitutional review", "since the legitimacy of deputies to the Assembly of the Republic emanates from the Constitution, this should limit the mandates of that political body".

Thus, in the opinion of the Algarve Social-Democratic Youth structure, this initiative "should come from the party itself and its deputies, to whom it undertakes to prepare the draft Constitutional revision, for which reason it should be immediately defended and studied internally by the PSD."

The political proposal to limit the terms of office of deputies was unanimously approved by the District Council of JSD in Algarve and by the National Council of JSD.
