Paulo Galvao

A solo guitar will lead the Algarve public to discover a wide variety of composers, in places that symbolize the region's history, such as churches and museums, among other buildings of historical interest.

This is the proposal of the cycle "Guitars and Heritage", which starts on Friday, January 6, in Alcoutim, but will also pass, in this first month, in Portimão, on 7, Loulé, on 28, and Monchique , at 29.

The concert in Alcoutim, with the guitarist Paulo Galvao, will take place at the Castle Museum in that town, starting at 19:00. In Portimão, with the guitarist Jose Alegre, this trip passes by the Municipal Museum, at 16 pm on Saturday.

For the concert in Alcoutim, guitarist Paulo Galvão proposes a program about romanticism, a tour through different introspective universes of XNUMXth century musicians, such as guitarists Luigi Legnani and Ferrer y Esteves, or the romantic composer Johannes Brahms, among others.

Jose Alegre

At the Museu de Portimão, the theme will be «trip – Portuguese sounds», with José Alegre's Portuguese guitar «on a journey without a pre-defined route and to the taste of this young guitarist's art of playing well», explains the organization.

In Loulé, also with José Alegre, the concert is scheduled for 16 pm at the Municipal Museum, while, in Monchique, the Matriz Church, at the same time, will stage the «Guitarras e Património».

This musical cycle is promoted by the Academy of Music of Lagos and is part of the 365 Algarve programming.

According to the organization, this cycle proposes «a journey accompanied by the plucking of strings that tell stories about Portuguese culture and music».
