The Camellia Festival returns to São Sebastião Park, in Monchique, on the 18th and 19th of February, and, in addition to the many colors and shapes of this flower, which has adapted so well to this mountain council in the Algarve, it will showcase the arts and local crafts.

Over two days, collectors, enthusiasts and producers of this flower will gather at this event promoted by the City of Monchique, which aims to «(re) affirm and elevate this icon of local culture and identity», an element of the natural heritage that « it has a lot to highlight», according to the Monchiquense municipality.

More than an exhibition, this Festival aims to be a collaborative initiative, with the municipality challenging "all camellia lovers and the general public" to participate in the exhibition, "with flowers or prepared table centers". The invitation is extended to those who just want to visit the 3rd edition of the festival, «enjoying the beauty of this flower».

In addition to camellias, some coming from far away, the festival's program includes many activities. “Dance, painting, ceramics, confectionery and music come together to provide the visitor with two days of truly attractive festival, where he feels like staying and enjoying”, announced the Monchique City Council.
